Each Thankga painted at Norbulingka is an exceptional work of art. Our artists are trained to create their piece according to tradition, based on the proportional grid system. The colors are natural, extracted from plants and minerals, and the work is minute, using the finest brushes to compose a sky from thousands of brushstrokes. Each piece is witness to a unique tradition that survives intact to this day.
